MEETING POINT – for ‘Wadi Rum Rocks’ guests
As written in the tour program we always meet our guests at the Resthouse, Rum village. Please be aware, the Resthouse is NOT the Wadi Rum Visitors’ Center where you have to pay the 5 JD p.p. entrance fee.
The Resthouse in Rum village, is the first building on the right when entering Rum village. Rum village consists mainly of several hundred Bedouin inhabitants with their goat-hair tents and concrete houses, a school, a few shops and the headquarters of the famous Desert Patrol.
TRANSPORT to WADI RUM Protected Area
By Bus
Buses in Jordan are safe, fast and modern and usually on time. Sometimes they may wait for the bus to fill up before they leave.
Wadi Rum – Petra (vice versa)
Wadi Rum, Resthouse 08.30 hrs – Petra 10.00 hrs (daily) – price 5 JD p.p.
Petra 06.30 hrs – Wadi Rum, Resthouse 08.00 hrs (daily) – price 5 JD p.p.
Wadi Rum – Aqaba (vice versa)
Wadi Rum 07.00 hrs – Aqaba 08.00 hrs (daily, except Fridays) – price 3 JD p.p.
Aqaba 11.00 hrs – Wadi Rum 12.00 hrs (daily, except Fridays) – price 3 JD p.p.
From the highway
There are also many buses to the highway, Al-Rushdiyya junction. From here you can take a taxi to Rum village, Resthouse. Even the local Bedouin from Wadi Rum are happy and willing to drive you to Rum village.
Amman – Aqaba
Bus from Amman to Aqaba: every hour – 7-10 JD p.p. (ask the bus driver to stop at Al Rushdiyy). From here you can take a taxi to Rum village, Resthouse. Even the local Bedouin from Wadi Rum are happy and willing to drive you to Rum village.
From Aqaba up north
Buses from Aqaba to Ma’an, Quweira, Wadi Musa (Petra) pass Al-Rushdiyye (ask the busdriver to stop here) – 1-2 JD p.p. From here you can take a taxi to Rum village, Resthouse. Even the local Bedouin from Wadi Rum are happy and willing to drive you to Rum village.
By Taxi
For a group of max. 5 persons a taxi can be arranged from Wadi Rum and vice versa to anywhere in Jordan. We can arrange good prices with several taxi companies/drivers.
The prices are approx.:
- Wadi Rum – Aqaba – 20 JD
- Wadi Rum – Aqaba South Beach – 25 JD
- Wadi Rum – Eilat border crossing – 25 JD
- Wadi Rum – Wadi Musa (Petra) – 35 JD
- Wadi Rum – Amman – 100 JD
By Minibus
For a group of max. 7 persons a minibus can be arranged for transportation from Wadi Rum and vice versa to anywhere in Jordan.
The prices are approx:
- Wadi Rum – Aqaba – 60 JD
- Wadi Rum – Aqaba South Beach – 70 JD
- Wadi Rum – Eilat border crossing – 70 JD
- Wadi Rum – Wadi Musa (Petra) – 80 JD
- Wadi Rum – Amman – 140 JD
By Rental car
To rent a car for your trip in Jordan is very common. You can drive with your rental car up to the Resthouse, Rum village (after you have paid the 5 JD entrance fee p.p. at the Wadi Rum Visitors Center).
Parking
Your (rental) car can be parked safely during your stay on the parking place next to the Resthouse, Rum village.
